One Piece Day '26 had the usual amount of controlled chaos: the second WORLD TOP 100 character poll, anime and card game updates, cast appearances, merchandise, music and enough announcements to keep several different parts of the fanbase arguing at once. The two reveals that swallowed most of the room, however, were theatrical. One Piece is getting two new movies before the decade is over.

God Valley comes first

One Piece Film: God Valley is scheduled for Japanese theaters in summer 2027, lining up with the manga's 30th anniversary. Rather than sending the Straw Hats to another temporary movie island, it will adapt the God Valley flashback from the manga: the incident involving Rocks D. Xebec, Gol D. Roger, Monkey D. Garp and several future legends who were all somehow in the same place at the worst possible time.

That makes God Valley a different kind of One Piece movie from Red, Stampede or Gold. It is built from material that actually belongs to the main story. We still do not have the full production staff, an international release date or every detail about how the anime will handle the surrounding Elbaph material, so there is plenty left to announce before summer 2027.

Then there is BaaD

One Piece Film: BaaD is planned for 2029, when the television anime turns 30. At the moment, that is almost the entire briefing. We have a title treatment drawn by Oda and a release year, but no confirmed plot, cast, staff or answer about whether it adapts manga material. Naturally, giving One Piece fans three unexplained letters and three years to think about them is an extremely dangerous decision.

Where the four-year story came from

This is also where the ScreenRant ending claim seems to have been born. Its article did not contain a new quote in which Oda announced four more years. Instead, it reasoned that a canon God Valley movie in 2027 followed by BaaD in 2029 “strongly suggests” the manga will still be running around that time. Once that inference escaped the article and hit social media, it became “Oda confirmed at least four more years,” which is the claim we covered in our previous rumor check.

The deduction is understandable, but it is still a deduction. BaaD could release after the manga ends, adapt existing material or simply celebrate the anime independently. Movies are evidence that the franchise will remain active; they are not proof that new manga chapters will still be published in 2029. The real One Piece Day headline is already large enough: two movies are coming. We do not need to glue a fake ending announcement onto it.
