Nike and One Piece have officially joined forces, which means the Devil Fruits have finally acquired the one power they were missing: making sneaker releases unnecessarily complicated. The collection was revealed around One Piece Day '26 and includes three redesigned Air Max Plus shoes, plus jerseys, T-shirts, caps and a vest. This is not a leak or one of those concept shoes that gets reposted until everybody forgets it was fan-made. Nike has published the collection and the release plan itself.
Three fruits, three Air Max Plus designs
The shoes are based on the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi and Mera Mera no Mi. In normal-person language, those are the fruits associated with Luffy, Law and Ace. Nike says it did more than apply character colors to an existing sneaker: each version has a reworked upper shaped around the look and idea of its fruit. The Gomu pair uses purple and bright green, the Ope pair leans into red and green, and the Mera pair is built around fire-like orange tones.
The clothing goes deeper into the manga than a small logo on the chest. Nike says the range uses actual manga panels, a joint Nike and One Piece mark and illustrations rebuilt in the style of older Nike advertising. There is also a vest inspired by the fact that Devil Fruit users are hated by the sea and cannot swim. Wearing a flotation-looking vest themed around characters who immediately sink is either very clever or extremely disrespectful. Probably both.
The release map needs its own Log Pose
The first activation begins in Tokyo on September 4, with a broader SNKRS launch following on September 25. That does not mean every shoe will be available everywhere. The Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus is the closest thing to the global release: Nike lists a September 25 SNKRS preorder for the United States, Japan and selected European countries, with standard or exclusive-access launches in several other markets. Selected Gomu apparel is also due on SNKRS that day.
The other two pairs are divided by region. The Ope Ope version is planned for selected retailers in the United States and Europe on September 19. The Mera Mera version is scheduled for selected retailers in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Mexico from September 12, followed by an Australian release window from October 16 to 18. In Japan, Nike lists each Air Max Plus at ¥27,500. Availability can still vary by country and store, so check Nike's local launch page before preparing an international rescue mission for a shoe.
Why this collaboration makes sense
One Piece merchandise is not exactly rare, but Nike treating the Devil Fruits as design objects gives the collaboration a reason to exist beyond putting Luffy beside a Swoosh. The Air Max Plus already has a loud shape, so it can survive the kind of colors that would make a quiet sneaker look like a melted toy. More importantly, the three-fruit selection covers the protagonist, one of the series' most popular rivals and the character whose merchandise department has apparently sworn never to let him rest.
It was one of several real announcements surrounding One Piece Day, alongside the two new movies we covered earlier. Unlike the fake four-year ending claim, there are official product pages, dates and a full Nike release. The clock has not moved, but your bank account may be entering the final saga.
