About Oda's Clock

Question 01

Why did you create Oda's Clock?

I created Oda's Clock with the intent to both parody every announcement in regard to when One Piece will end, but also, as time goes on and we actually approach the end, have some sort of a guidepost for newcomers on how much time they have to catch up.

Question 02

What is the clock currently based on?

Currently it's set based on the latest fake announcement that originated on Twitter, but it's subject to change at any point if it's deemed necessary or if the news is legit.

Question 03

Should I take the clock seriously?

There is no need to take it seriously FOR NOW, but as soon as we get rougher estimates as in “20 chapters left,” we will adjust accordingly and monitor it week by week. For now, treat it as if One Piece will go on forever.

Question 04

What is X for?

X is there simply to interact with the community. There's a vast sea of content on the internet, ranging from agenda posting all the way to scholarly theories. We will interact with as many people as possible and from as many different sections of the community, while also maybe dipping our toes into other communities in the anime and entertainment space.

Question 05

What is YouTube for?

YouTube is there simply for fun satirical content and some form of engagement with the community while we wait for One Piece to end, which is of course never going to happen. It's completely a side thing for now and nobody should take it seriously.

We also plan to include a 24/7 live of the countdown, where people will also be able to interact and have fun. I mean, it's just a clock.

Question 06

What happens when Oda gives another estimate?

We update the clock!
